Brooklyn, New York

C&L Contracting’s renovation of several facilities at Brooklyn College, currently being conducted with minimal interference while classes are underway, includes the main science building, Ingersoll Hall, three research laboratory suites, the Biology Department offices, the Glass Wash Facility and Prep Room, and the Food Science Lab. The project involves asbestos abatement, roofing demolition, and new built-up and standing seam roofing. Existing rooftop AC equipment is being removed, and new rooftop mechanical units and structural steel dunnage installed, as are new Variable Air Volume systems within existing ductwork and control wiring. Upgrades to telecommunications infrastructure that included electrical conduit work and wiring to new equipment are being made. Modifications are also being made to the laboratory exhaust systems, while the chilled water and electrical services receive upgrades, and an emergency generator, new fire alarm devices and an acid neutralization system are installed. Finally, the existing boiler and pump set were removed and a new boiler, pumps and piping were installed.
